Dear wine lovers,

I can’t wait to get to travel to France and Germany in 2017 to again visit the beautiful wine regions in Burgundy, Bordeaux, and along the Rhine, Mosel, Main, Saale, Elbe, Ahr, Nahe, and Neckar rivers in Germany.

These incredible trips are not just about wine. Heart-stopping landscapes, Michelin-starred restaurants, local wine taverns, and a fascinating rich history and cultural heritage make these tours the perfect destination for wine and food aficionados, as well as for the history and culture geeks.

Since I only take a small group (10 max) space is very limited. This private tours give you a chance to learn a lot about wine, to personally interact with the winemakers, and to explore in detail some of the world’s most exciting wine destinations.

TOUR 2: Germany: Wine & Art, June 09 - June 18, 2017: only 2 (TWO) slots are still available.

We experience Germany’s beautiful, lesser known wine regions along the Saale, Elbe, Main, and Neckar river. If you are a culture geek, this is the tour for you. We visit the region that is best described as the cradle of German intellect and culture. We will visit 18 top wineries, historical gems, experience recent German history – from the GDR to a unified Germany -, and will attend four performances at world-renowned theater houses: Gewandhaus Leipzig, Semperoper Dresden, Mozartfestival Würzburg, Ballet Stuttgart.

TOUR 3: Germany: Qintessential Riesling: June 19 - June 25, 2017: 5 slots available.

This tour lets us explore the regions that are quintessential to understand “Riesling”, and the concept of “terroir”. We will visit the jewel in the crown of German wine country, the Rheingau with its almost one thousand year old aristocratic wine estates, and many picturesque wine towns. Of course we do a cruise on the romantic Rhine River with its castle- and vine-ribboned bank. We will have a close look at the Mosel valley with its dizzying steep vineyards, and world-renowned wine estates, and we delve into 2000 years of wine history and of course taste premium wines at world-class wine estates.

FALL

TOUR 4: Bordeaux: September 06 - September 15, 2017: 8 slots available.

Spend 10 days in Bordeaux traveling through all the important subregions of the Bordeaux appellation: MARGAUX, SAINT-JULIEN, PAUILLAC, SAINT-ESTÈPHE, SAINT-ÉMILION, POMEROL, PESSAC-LÉOGNAN, SAUTERNE, visiting world-famous classified Châteaux. ”Bordeaux” embodies more than just wine. In France the interplay of wine and food is very important and almost every day we have a wine pairing meal at a famous Château, hosted by the owner, general manager or winemaker. We will visit many of the hidden gems -such as a cooperage, an oyster farm on the Bau d'Arcachon, some small, top “petit Châteaux” - that other tours pass by, but which are essential to understand what Bordeaux is all about. In a nutshell: this is a hands-on Bordeaux wine class on the ground.

TOUR 5: Germany & Alsace: September 30 - October 08, 2017: The Sun-Kissed Culinary and Red Wine Region: 8 slots available.

This tour takes us to the southernmost, sun-kissed German wine regions – Baden, Pfalz, Rheinhessen - and we will experience the German red wine revolution - gorgeous Pinot-Noir. We will visit Germany’s unconventional, but exceptionally gifted winemakers as well as top wine estates in breathtakingly beautiful Alsace. This tour includes a visit to the gorgeous wine region at the northern shore of Lake Constance. We will travel through the Black Forest to the German side of the Rhine valley and cross over to the French side of the Rhine valley to spend two nights in the Alsatian wine region dotted with completely intact medieval villages with its incredible, picturesque half-timbered houses. We will explore the culinary regions of Germany and Alsace with dinners at Michelin starred restaurants and wine tavern serving traditional local food.
